Hallowed Be Thy Name

In love with old bands? Like ACDC, Kiss, Iron Maiden, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc? Vintage band t-shirts look so great and make you look musically intelligent. I have an Iron Maiden shirt.
Sometimes I wear it under a plaid shirt which is a good combination. Or I just wear it plain. HMV and Urban Outfitters sells some band t-shirts and I find a lot of them sold at thrift stores or just a vintage store. Aces High!

Feather HeadBands

So there's these headbands I been obsessing over lately and I hope I'll be able to get them this Christmas. They're feather headbands. They are so cool and vintage. I don't decorate my hair with accessories a lot, but feather headbands are amazing and are the way to go.
I am in love with this one especially: Forever 21, Elegant Feathered Leaf Headband

Onesie not a Twosie

Onesies were in decades ago and they're still pretty cool today (Minus the disco onesies- I wouldn't wear that now). Not many stores sell them, but I find if they do, they're pretty expensive. But no worries, Christmas is coming and we can save up our money!
I couldn't pick just one romper from this polyvore website. They are all so good especially this Opening Ceremony two-tone jumpsuit: $360. A bit expensive but still great!

Winter Wonderland

It's Decemeber already! and it's getting really cold so you should all put away your summer clothes. ;) And bundle up in your jackets, warm pants, sweaters, ear muffs, gloves, scarfs and winter boots! You won't even know what cold is anymore. Here's some winterwear I would definitely pick out for the winters to come.
Ear muffs: Forever 21 $5.50
Trapper Hat: Forever 21 $14.80
Wool Leggings: Aritzia $75
Kimono Sleeve Sweater: by Chloe $198
Knit Headband: Prada $110
Fingerless Gloves: Urban Outfitters $28
Peacoat: Michael Kors $210
Leather Boots: Belstaff Barkmaster $535
Scarf: MadeWell $58

Merry Christmas.

Menswear for Me.

Menswear for womenswear. I'm pretty sure most people have worn something that guys usually wear like a dress shirt, oxfords, blazers, or ties. I'd add a feminine touch like a belt or a girly colour to it. There are also womenswear that are inspired by menswear already.

Suspenders are awesome. I'm planning to get some soon. I think they're especially good on shorts.
Dress shirts are sweet. But I'd add a belt or shape to the waist to not look baggy.
Oxfords; they're expensive if you want nice ones. I'd definitely get a slim fit pair. I have a pair of Steve Madden ones. I love them!

I watched the Victoria Secret fashion show today. It was amazing. The models are gorgeous and everything was extravagant and extraordinary. The ideas and creativity was...  I can't even explain it. If you missed it, that's quite a shame but wait till next year's, it'll be bigger and better!

If you want to watch things about fashion instead of reading it sometimes, the H&M fashion videos are helpful and interesting. and guys can watch them too! ;)

What is Fashion?

Coco Chanel: Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

Most people would just think Fashion is clothes; what you wear on your body. But there's so much more than that! You're wearing art! Fashion is infinite. The descriptions are endless! People say don't let the clothing wear you, but really, the clothing is the body and you're the clothing. You have so much more than just a piece of fabric. Ultimately, clothing just helps you cover yourself up however you want to.There is no real definition of Fashion.

Diane Von Furstenberg : "I am inspired by women and I design to inspire them."

Lauren Hutton : "There's no such thing as fashion. Fashion is an idea to make you think that you're not in it at all times. Fashion is what you're offered four times a year by designers-and style is what you choose"

Karl Lagerfeld: You have to take time off if you have a boring job. But my job is perfect. I do it in the best conditions.

Cecil Beaton: "Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary"

Coco Chanel: In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.

Christian Dior: Zest is the secret of all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without zest.

Yves Saint Laurent "Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.

Beauty and the Blogger.

Hey guys! Check out my blogger friend Beauty and the Blogger. Its awesome and all about beauty!

Sequin Much?

Number one party dress?... A sequined dress!

You might think, "that's really flashy and horrible," but I think a nice classy sequined dress would be good to go. I wouldn't pick out an ultra bright colour, unless I'm really screaming for attention. I just want a good balance.

I've always wanted a sequined dress, but I don't attend any fancy parties much to wear one. Maybe when I move to New York I'll get a chance to! I'll be like Whitney Port. Ha ha ha.

Here's some stores where you can get one:
A skirt from Forever 21 $19.80: SEQUINED SHORT SKIRT
You'll definitely get noticed in this dress $1,495: Folded-sequin silk-organza dress
For a calmer dress from H&M $59.95: dress

Cropped Shoe Jeans...

Lately, I've been really into baggy crop tops. I have quite a few of them now, which I hope I won't regret! I watch 90210 and one of my favourite characters, Ivy Sullivan, ALWAYS wear crop tops. She's like this surfer chick and she's awesome. Silver's fashion is amazing as well.

And I have an obsession with shoes. Oxfords, combat boots, heels, Cowboy boots, Manolos, Converse, Boatshoes, sneakers, EVERYTHING! (except flipflops; they're unhealthy and not so stylish).

I always have these phases with clothes and sometimes I end up not really liking them, but I know I'll never be sick of crops tops and shoes... you always need shoes.

One time I was obsessed with coloured jeans... boy do I regret that. From now on, I'm just going to stick to normal jeans- ripped, acid washed, any kind of blue jeans. They are the way to go and they go with every outfit. Trust me, I had a tough time trying to match my red and orange jeans...

Fashion Need

I'm really into fashion. I want to move to New York, go to Parsons and, work at Vogue or just do anything in the fashion field. I'll figure out which field later. That's my dream. But for right now, I just research, read, watch, and shop fashion. I know this goal is far-fetched. If you have any connections let me know. ;)

Shops I shop at and love are: Urban Outfitters, Anthropology, Forever 21, Express, Wet Seal, Arson and Orb, American Apparel, Winners, Sterling (shoes), H&M and Nordstrom. [Those are just some]
Some favourite fashion books: Teen Vogue Handbook, In Fashion, In Vogue, Influence: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson and A to Zoe.
Some good fashion shows: Fashion file, America's Next Top Model, Britain's Next Top Model, the Annual Victoria Secret Fashion show.
Fashion Websites:  Net-A-Porter.com, Dollhouse.com, Style.com, Shopstyle.com, Fashionweekdaily.com, demicouture.ca, vancouverfashionezine.com

Chase your dreams.

Who doesn't love Flower Pants?

Awhile back, I got these flower pants from Aritzia which I thought was really cool and different. Like nobody wears flower pants so I got them. I really liked them but then my family said "I do not want to be seen with you wearing those pants." They say that whenever I wear something 'different'. But I thought they were great! My friends all thought they were really cute.

They're not that bad right? right? right guys?

Arson and Orb

So a week ago I stood in line for about an hour to get into this Arson and Orb sale. They sell clothes, bags and winterwear, which I like because I snowboard. When I got there it was packed. I'm small so it was really difficult to get past everyone, but I did end up with some stuff I really like.
These are the two dresses I got. They are the only dresses I own now.

This is probably one of the best shirts I found there:

My new favourite bag:

A T-shirt dress that says L'Amour de ta Vie. I usually wear this with a belt and make the top part baggyish and black tights.

Now I have to wait till next year for sale again.

Cindy Lou to Pretty Reckless

Ever heard of Taylor Momsen? Shes from Gossip Girl and she's in a band called the Pretty Reckless. She was also Cindy Lou-Who from The Grinch stole Christmas. A lot of people hate her because she acts provocative and very controversial but  many other people love her style. Although I think she doesn't act her age much but I still admire her especially her style and music.  She's only 17 years old. Sometimes I wish I could wear some of the stuff she wears, but I know that I couldn't pull it off as well as her. and also I would get in so much trouble. :P What do you think?

Clumps and Cows

Before I got my Sephora Mascara I had really bad mascara from Avon, it was horrible, though Avons makeup quality isn't so great. They made me look all clumpy and gross. Until one day I came upon the .. Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara! It was the solution to all my problems. Its comb is fantastic and it spreads out my eyelashs great. My lifesaver.

So almost everybody I know owns a pair of Uggs. To me Uggs = Ugly. and cruel. To me they look like mammoths on your feet and  not "fashionable". Although they do look comfy. I even read that guys don't think they are attractive at all, even Down with Webster doesn't like them. See for yourself hereGo to Clip 3 at 3:00.
So... think about it. Also many older woman wear these huge fur coats. Real fur coats. They seem so bulky and cruel and I would rather wear Uggs than wear that. They're just taking up a lot more room than cows. I love cows.

I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!

I never wear watches but I think I should start wearing them but they're so unattractive and bulky. So I found these necklace pocketwatches and I love them, but not many stores sell them. They're really nice, they're not like the old grandpa pocketwatches nor like the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
The only store I can find these is Urban Outfitters. They're not so cheap but I'll try to find cheaper ones.

My personal favourite: Romantic Cluster Clock Necklace $28.00
A more futruristic pocketwatch: Digital Heart Watch Pendant Necklace $29.00
A traditional one: Assorted Clock Necklace $28.00

Also I've been reading this book The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider's Guide to Careers in Fashion and its one of my favourite books although its non-fiction. This book is really helpful if you want to pursue your life in the fashion industry which i want to do. I've learnt so much from it and it made me realize that somewhere in the fashion industry is where I want to go. I'm not sure exactly what field I want to be in yet but I'll figure that out the more older and clever I get.

Sale! Sale! Sale!

The Arson & Orb Warehouse sale is almost here! A bit of West Coast fashion. Now I can go get my cozy sweaters for super cheap. Too bad they moved from Fantasy Gardens to the River Rock Casino cause now I will not see the windmill and flowers.

One of my favourite designers are the Mulleavy Sisters. They are behind the brand Rodarte. Their designs are so different and unique that if you wear them out you will be unforgettable. Many of their sweaters, which i really like, are worn by a lot of celebrities like Kristen Stewart. Their idea in making these kinds of sweaters "are done like broken spider webs-delicately unraveled. They're tightly wound in some places and very loose in others," as they say.

Their dresses they design are one-of-kind as well. I wouldn't wear their dresses because I'm not sure if I could pull it off but I would definitely get their sweaters. Even at the Vancouver Olympics figue skaters like Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek wore a crocheted jumpsuit made from them.
Though you can find their collection at Nordstrom you can find a more affordable line at Target. I'll be looking for them next time I go down for the states. You can see their collection here .

Combat Baby

The only thing I really want for Christmas are Combat Boots. They are so grungy and dirty but I love that about them. You can wear them with anything. Dresses and combat boots are a great combination, girly yet dark. When looking for my own pair of combat boots, really heavy and thick ones might make me look you actually came from war, I'd get ones with a slim fit to get the feminine look of it.

Here's some celebs with these boots:

 Rachel Bilson                         Spinelli

Here is a pair of high heels combat boots you guys would like if you want a bit of height:

Restricted Combat $69.99 US : You can find these boots at www.piperlime.com an online shopping store for women. Its a $8 flat-rate shipping for Canada though.

These are a Steve Madden pair with a flannel flair.
Steve Madden Flannel Combat Boots $149.95 US : Comes in black and brown

These are my personal favourite because they are slim and simple. It's a good price and Canadian. From the shoe store Spring.
Spring Shanklin $79.99: Comes in brown, grey and black.

Hope you enjoy! And hopefully I will get mine soon.
