Finders Keepers

It has been a wonderful two days!! I think these were some of my best purchases of my life.
Here are some of the stuff my sister and I got from the sales:

Dakota Group Sample Sale Spring 2011
I saw the PLV slingbacks that I mentioned in the last post, but unfortunately they were a size 6...

Co-Lab                              Matt and Nat                             Matt and Nat

Jenny Han                                  Numph                                    Something Else (back)

My favourite purchase was the Matt & Nat backpack. I have been looking for a backpack like that for awhile. The Something Else dress has a really cool back to it that would be good for the summer.  love love love Matt and Nat (and penguins)!! (I'm also probably going to "borrow" my sister's Jenny Han Dress)

Army And Navy Annual Shoe Sale

G by Guess                                        Rocketdog

Jessica Simpson                              Steve Madden

Whenever I go to a shoe store I always check out those blue suede Steve Maddens, but they were always too pricey. I freaked out when I saw them. They're 4 and a half inch heels but I manage. You always need simple black heels because they go with everything, so I got the Rocketdogs. The Jessica Simpson line has really cute shoes, so I've gained a bit more respect for Jessica Simpson. ;) And a classy nude kitten heel won't hurt either. :)

I'd say we did pretty good.

April Showers bring Sample Sales!

There's a sample sale coming up from the Dakota group on Thursday April 28th-30th. I am stoked. They have Matiko shoes, Matt & Nat bags and Soia and Kyo clothing and lots of other brands. The prices are like the wholesale prices.. thats pretty good! Now I can actually afford some of these items!
Hope they have these Pour La Victoire slingbacks!

And the day before, on Wednesday, is the Army and Navy shoe sale in Vancouver.  A week of shopping! They have shoes from Steve Madden to Elie Tahari. Prices are pretty good, and I’m really looking forward to shopping for new Steve Maddens. Again.

I’m excited for this week.

Steve Madden

Steve Madden is my favourite shoe designer, and I am so glad that Metrotown in Burnaby is going to have its own store! I think it's the only one in B.C. I am so stoked for the shop to open. Steve Madden items are so amazing and are of good quality. My favourite shoes by him at the moment are these nude pumps that I hope I'll get soon. They can go with anything casual or anything fancy.
The flats that he has are the cutest flats you'll ever see.
Although the items aren't very cheap they're not that expensive either. So I'd save some money to buy some shoes!

Hong Kong Finds

During Christmas I was in Hong Kong for a family trip. The shopping was amazing! There are so many designer shops there. It was heaven! They even had a Diane Von Furstenberg, John Galliano and a Manolo Blahnik store there. I wish I was super rich so I can buy everything. Although I could afford to buy some things from two of my favourite stores, Bershka and Pull and Bear. They don't have any of thoses stores here in North America. What a shame. Aside from all the expensive things in HK, I also found tons of cheap finds.
I got a pair of skinny cargo pants from H&M for about $13!
Black Tights $11: Bershka
Circle Scarf $10

Audrey Hepburn shirt $23: Pull and Bear

Combat Boots $22

Boots $30

Suspenders $9
Headband $4
Bracelets $2 (good bargaining)
Leg Warmers $5

Yeah, I had a great time shopping.

Menswear for Me.

Menswear for womenswear. I'm pretty sure most people have worn something that guys usually wear like a dress shirt, oxfords, blazers, or ties. I'd add a feminine touch like a belt or a girly colour to it. There are also womenswear that are inspired by menswear already.

Suspenders are awesome. I'm planning to get some soon. I think they're especially good on shorts.
Dress shirts are sweet. But I'd add a belt or shape to the waist to not look baggy.
Oxfords; they're expensive if you want nice ones. I'd definitely get a slim fit pair. I have a pair of Steve Madden ones. I love them!

I watched the Victoria Secret fashion show today. It was amazing. The models are gorgeous and everything was extravagant and extraordinary. The ideas and creativity was...  I can't even explain it. If you missed it, that's quite a shame but wait till next year's, it'll be bigger and better!

If you want to watch things about fashion instead of reading it sometimes, the H&M fashion videos are helpful and interesting. and guys can watch them too! ;)

Cropped Shoe Jeans...

Lately, I've been really into baggy crop tops. I have quite a few of them now, which I hope I won't regret! I watch 90210 and one of my favourite characters, Ivy Sullivan, ALWAYS wear crop tops. She's like this surfer chick and she's awesome. Silver's fashion is amazing as well.

And I have an obsession with shoes. Oxfords, combat boots, heels, Cowboy boots, Manolos, Converse, Boatshoes, sneakers, EVERYTHING! (except flipflops; they're unhealthy and not so stylish).

I always have these phases with clothes and sometimes I end up not really liking them, but I know I'll never be sick of crops tops and shoes... you always need shoes.

One time I was obsessed with coloured jeans... boy do I regret that. From now on, I'm just going to stick to normal jeans- ripped, acid washed, any kind of blue jeans. They are the way to go and they go with every outfit. Trust me, I had a tough time trying to match my red and orange jeans...

Clumps and Cows

Before I got my Sephora Mascara I had really bad mascara from Avon, it was horrible, though Avons makeup quality isn't so great. They made me look all clumpy and gross. Until one day I came upon the .. Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara! It was the solution to all my problems. Its comb is fantastic and it spreads out my eyelashs great. My lifesaver.

So almost everybody I know owns a pair of Uggs. To me Uggs = Ugly. and cruel. To me they look like mammoths on your feet and  not "fashionable". Although they do look comfy. I even read that guys don't think they are attractive at all, even Down with Webster doesn't like them. See for yourself hereGo to Clip 3 at 3:00.
So... think about it. Also many older woman wear these huge fur coats. Real fur coats. They seem so bulky and cruel and I would rather wear Uggs than wear that. They're just taking up a lot more room than cows. I love cows.

Combat Baby

The only thing I really want for Christmas are Combat Boots. They are so grungy and dirty but I love that about them. You can wear them with anything. Dresses and combat boots are a great combination, girly yet dark. When looking for my own pair of combat boots, really heavy and thick ones might make me look you actually came from war, I'd get ones with a slim fit to get the feminine look of it.

Here's some celebs with these boots:

 Rachel Bilson                         Spinelli

Here is a pair of high heels combat boots you guys would like if you want a bit of height:

Restricted Combat $69.99 US : You can find these boots at www.piperlime.com an online shopping store for women. Its a $8 flat-rate shipping for Canada though.

These are a Steve Madden pair with a flannel flair.
Steve Madden Flannel Combat Boots $149.95 US : Comes in black and brown

These are my personal favourite because they are slim and simple. It's a good price and Canadian. From the shoe store Spring.
Spring Shanklin $79.99: Comes in brown, grey and black.

Hope you enjoy! And hopefully I will get mine soon.
